Since your Swift is over 10 years old, it most likely needs 5W-30 high mileage motor oil. If you run your car with a thicker oil, you may notice a drop in your fuel economy, especially in the winter. If you would like a specific engine oil for your car, it is wise to buy it whet it is on sale and take it with you to your favourite lube place. Ask for their price for oil and filter change with your own oil. I usually get about 30% discount when I bring my own oil, and the final price is cheaper than that of the same brand motor oil provided by the lube shop.
