SUZUKI SWIFT 98
SUZUKI SWIFT 1998 AIR FILTER
If your mileage has dropped one of the things you should do is to check your air filter. You should check your air filter at least once a year, or every six months if you are driving in dusty conditions.

The air filter housing of Suzuki Swift 1998 is under the hood on the left front side (the passenger side). The cover is held by spring clips. Separate the cover from the housing and you can take out the filter for inspection. If there is a lot of dirt you can tap the filter against a table to try to remove most of the dirt and dust that has accumulated. If that doesn't work than you should change it. Changing it is a pretty straightforward stuff, if you find the correct replacement. If you can't find the same one, bring your car to an oil changing place and they can change the filter for you. Sometimes they may have to order it from a supplier. Regardless of who is changing your air filter, you should always check the air filter housing and all hoses attached to it for any cracks. Since the Suzuki Swift is an older model, its plastic parts tend to crack easily. |
This is a very serious stuff, because if a crack goes unnoticed it would be the same as driving without air filter and your engine may get damaged. If you discover a minor crack, use some duct tape to fix it. If the crack is bigger, it may be necessary to replace the damaged part. The picture below shows an original air filter for Suzuki Swift 98.
